(June 7, 2026) With the gradual implementation of new regulations related to green tires in China, the scope of mandatory adoption of low rolling resistance tires continues to expand. As a key reinforcing raw material for tires, white carbon black saw a significant rebound in market procurement enthusiasm in June, and the stocking pace across the industry chain accelerated.
The new regulations clearly improve tire energy-saving and environmental protection indicators. Traditional carbon black reinforcement solutions are difficult to meet, the proportion of high-disperse silica added is being rigidly raised, and major domestic tire factories are gradually adjusting raw material formulas and increasing their white carbon reserves and procurement volumes. In early June, tire companies concentrated on mid-term raw material restocking, with spot market sales in many regions showing a significant increase compared to last month, and prices for tire-specific precipitated silica stabilized after a decline.
Segment market trends diverged, with high-dispersion white carbon for tires in high demand and manufacturers extending order scheduling cycles; Meanwhile, downstream demand for general-purpose white carbon black used in footwear materials and common adhesives is weak, and price increases are weak. Many silica producers have flexibly allocated capacity, reduced output of low-end general products, and concentrated capacity to produce tire-grade modified silica.
On the foreign trade side, multiple countries have successively introduced tire environmental regulations, overseas tire manufacturers have also increased their use of silica, leading to a rise in overseas inquiries for domestic tire-grade silica and steady growth in export orders. Relying on environmental policy dividends, leading domestic companies in silica continue to optimize product modification processes to further consolidate their competitive advantage in exports.
Industry analysts say that in the short term, supported by concentrated tire restocking, the white carbon black market is steadily improving; In the medium to long term, under the global trend toward low-carbon tires, the long-term demand for high-performance white carbon black remains solidly supported and will continue to lead the industry's product iteration and upgrades.
