(June 6, 2026) Relying on policy support for resource utilization of grain and oil processing by-products, the circular silica project using rice husk ash as raw material has been concentrated in production areas in Anhui, Jiangsu, and Northeast China. Waste agricultural and forestry waste is being transformed into high-end silica raw material, opening a new raw material path for silica and effectively alleviating the industry's reliance on quartz sand and soda ash raw materials.
In previous years, rice husks were mostly incinerated or landfilled on site, causing environmental pollution and wasting resources. In recent years, various regions have introduced comprehensive utilization subsidies for agricultural and forestry solid waste, and many chemical companies have set up production lines for rice husk ash to extract silica. This process has lower production costs than traditional sedimentation methods, and the finished product has low carbon emissions, making it suitable for rubber reinforcement, feed addition, and other fields.
From the perspective of on-site production and sales, the silica produced by the circular process is highly favored by European and American buyers due to its low-carbon advantages, with order scheduling generally exceeding 20 days. Traditional mineral raw material manufacturers are constrained by rising raw material prices, with production costs remaining high, gradually losing their advantage in foreign trade bidding.
Meanwhile, supporting deep-processing projects for silica in grain industrial parks in many regions have been successively launched, and grain enterprises have reached long-term supply agreements with chemical factories, forming a closed-loop industrial chain of "rice processing — rice husk recovery — silica preparation." Industry analysts say that the resource utilization of solid waste into silica is the mainstream direction for low-cost development in the future and may continue to reshape the domestic supply landscape of silica raw materials.
