On the glass curtain wall of the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, a self-cleaning coating based on white carbon black is creating miracles. Through biomimetic lotus leaf effect design, this material not only achieves a static contact angle of 165 °, but also generates active sites for photocatalytic decomposition of organic matter under ultraviolet light irradiation. The secret lies in its unique fractal structure: 50nm primary particles form 200nm aggregates, which are then reconstructed into a 5 μ m micro nano composite rough surface. This article elaborates on the mapping relationship between fluid dynamics control parameters and optical properties during its preparation process.
