When the organic solvent or water in the alcohol gel is heated and pressurized above the critical temperature and pressure, the gas-liquid interface in the system will disappear, and the capillary pressure in the gel will no longer exist. Being in critical conditions (ie critical pressure and temperature), avoiding or reducing the volume shrinkage and cracking caused by the existence of the surface tension of the solvent during the drying process, thereby obtaining an aerogel that maintains the original shape and structure of the gel.
