The reporter learned that not only Shandong Silicon, but also a number of domestic silica companies have recently increased their layout in high-end fields. At the beginning of this month, Zhejiang Hengyi Chemical announced the launch of a photovoltaic silica project with an annual output of 80,000 tons, focusing on the demand in the field of photovoltaic module packaging; Jiangsu Kaisheng New Materials cooperates with universities to develop high-purity silica for use in the field of biomedicine, further expanding the boundaries of product applications. Behind the intensive layout of enterprises is the continuous expansion of downstream application scenarios of silica and the rapid growth of high-end demand.

From the perspective of the application market, the demand for high-end silica shows a multi-point flowering trend. In the field of new energy vehicles, as the production and sales of domestic new energy vehicles continue to rise, the average annual growth rate of demand for high-dispersion silica, as the core raw material of green tires, remains above 20%. In the photovoltaic field, silica has become a key auxiliary material for photovoltaic module packaging with its excellent weather resistance and sealing, and the market demand continues to increase. In the field of high-end daily chemicals, silica, as a thickener and adsorbent for skin care products and cosmetics, gradually replaces traditional chemical raw materials with the advantages of safety and environmental protection, and the market penetration rate has steadily increased.

Industry insiders said that at present, the domestic silica industry has entered the stage of "differentiated competition", and the contradiction between low-end overcapacity and high-end capacity shortage still exists.
