Application of white carbon black in sole rubber

Hits: 803 img

White carbon black is an important reinforcing filler because of its excellent properties such as porosity, high dispersibility, light weight, good chemical stability, high temperature resistance, non-combustion and electrical insulation. The most important application of silica is the rubber reinforcing agent, which accounts for 80%-90% of the total output and can be widely used in many fields of the rubber industry. Because of its special surface structure, particle morphology and unique physicochemical properties, it has the advantages that carbon black can't match in light color and color products. Its surface activity and reinforcing performance are better than other inorganic light-colored fillers (such as carbonic acid). Calcium, clay, kaolin, mica, etc.) are more excellent.

In rubber products, the filler is the second largest raw material in the amount of raw rubber (natural rubber and synthetic rubber). In the product formulation, if the amount of raw rubber is 100 parts, the amount of reinforcing filler is about 50 parts, and the amount of non-reinforcing filler is about 25 parts, which is the sum of various rubber products. Specific to each product, some fillers even exceed rubber, and some are lower than the average. Today, the white sole rubber is taken as an example: 100 parts of raw rubber, 55 parts of white carbon black, 15 parts of ultrafine calcium carbonate, and 2 parts of titanium dioxide. Different sole rubbers will choose different rubber types, adding reinforcing fillers to improve mechanical properties, and adding non-reinforcing fillers to improve processing performance, all in order to reduce production costs.

Silica as a major reinforcing filler is widely used in the production of sole rubber, especially in transparent and translucent soles. In the shoe outsole formula, silica can replace carbon black 100%, so the footwear industry has been the largest user of silica in the rubber industry. In addition, the white carbon black and the elastomer material are used in the sole rubber to fill and improve the physical properties and processing performance of the rubber compound, and also improve the wear resistance, hardness, tensile strength and tear strength of the sole. It is used in a wide range of light, colored translucent and transparent soles, including outsole, midsole and strips. Carbon black is easy to produce black scar on the sole, and the reinforcing properties of other light or white fillers cannot meet the high performance requirements of the sole rubber. Therefore, white carbon black and styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), butadiene rubber (BR), etc. Used together to meet the high performance requirements.

According to the production process, white carbon black can be divided into two types: fumed silica and precipitated silica. The fumed silica will be finer and lighter in fineness than the precipitated silica. The price will be higher. At present, the precipitating method is commonly used in the market. The price is 6,000 yuan per ton, and some are only 3,000. The material quality of different manufacturers is quite different. If you want to make a good product, it is recommended that you choose the products of the manufacturer.

What impressed me the most is that a large shoe factory testing room to test finished shoe washing experiments must use the same brand of washing powder to test. And ten years is like this. Is the quality of other brands of washing powder bad? No, it is a stability that the company pursues. You may spend a little more on the raw materials, but the abnormal reduction in production and the reduction in defective products are equivalent to saving money. The average factory often spends the most, and most annoying, problem in solving production anomalies.
