New Environmental Forces: Innovative Application of Precipitation Method White Carbon Black in Wastewater Treatment and Air Purification
With the tightening of environmental policies, precipitated white carbon black has become a versatile solution for wastewater treatment and air purification due to its high specific surface area (100-400m ²/g) and chemical stability. This article focuses on analyzing its application cases in heavy metal adsorption, organic pollutant degradation, VOCs capture, and other fields. For example, in the treatment of electroplating wastewater, the adsorption capacity of white carbon black composite material loaded with iron oxide for hexavalent chromium reaches 120mg/g, far exceeding that of traditional activated carbon; In the field of photocatalysis, TiO ₂/white carbon black composite catalyst can improve the degradation efficiency of formaldehyde to 90% and can be reused more than 10 times. In addition, the white carbon black based air filtration membrane has an interception rate of 99.97% for PM0.3, while maintaining low resistance (<30Pa), and is widely used in air conditioning filters for new energy vehicles.
