On March 3, 2025, Beijing - Hankook Tire and Solvay recently signed an important agreement to jointly develop recycled
silica to promote the sustainability of tire production. This cooperation marks an important step forward for Hankook Tire in the application of sustainable materials. As an expert in the global silica field, Solvay will carry out large-scale recycling of all its factories to produce recycled silica. Bonhee Ku, President and Chief Technology Officer of Hankook Tire, stated that this collaboration will help Hankook Tire gradually expand the production scale of recycled silica in the near future, thereby reducing its impact on the environment.

At the signing ceremony, An Nuyttens, President of Solvay
Silicon Dioxide and Specialty Chemicals Global Business Unit, emphasized the importance of this collaboration. He pointed out that the development of recycled silica not only helps improve the performance of tires, but also significantly reduces resource consumption and carbon emissions during the production process. At present, Solvay's recycled silica material samples are undergoing comprehensive evaluation and are expected to achieve large-scale production in the coming years.
