1. Silicone base polymer
The basic component of the addition of liquid silicone rubber is a silicone base polymer, mainly a polydiorganosiloxane containing two or more silicon-vinyl groups. It is usually a linear silicone polymer with a vinyl group at each end of the polymer chain, and some contain a small amount of silicon-vinyl chain links in the middle of the polymer chain. The most typical base polymer used is alpha, omega-divinyl dimethicone, or simply vinyl silicone oil. Vinyl silicone oil is widely used as a base rubber for the production of liquid glue and silicone gel.

2. Crosslinker
The basic component crosslinking agent for the addition of a liquid silicone rubber is an organosiloxane oligomer containing three or more silicon-hydrogen bonds, that is, a low viscosity methyl hydrogen silicone oil.

3. Catalyst
Although there are various catalysts which can initiate the hydrosilylation reaction, the catalyst which can be used for the addition of the liquid silicone rubber is only the Group VIII transition metal element and its compound or complex, wherein the platinum catalyst has the highest catalytic efficiency.

Directly using a platinum catalyst, the silicon rubber can be catalyzed by a hydrosilylation reaction at room temperature; a suitable amount of the inhibitor can be added to the platinum catalyst to prepare a catalyst for the intermediate temperature vulcanization reaction.

4, filled with reinforcing materials
The vulcanized silicone rubber obtained by simply crosslinking the silicone base polymer and the hydrogen-containing silicone oil has low mechanical strength. In order to improve the mechanical strength of the vulcanized silicone rubber, it is necessary to add a reinforcing filler to the silicone rubber system. The most commonly used reinforcing fillers are fumed silica, precipitated silica, quartz powder, etc. To obtain a colorless transparent silicone rubber, methyl vinyl MQ silicone resin is required as a transparent reinforcing filler.
