The first is the contact method, which was applied by the West and the former Soviet Union in the 1950s.
It is mainly used to measure the temperature inside the tire and the temperature when the tire is vulcanized. Contact method for temperature measurement is divided into static method and dynamic method. The static method is generally measured after the tire is stopped for each experiment. It is mainly used to measure the temperature at the crown and shoulder. It uses a probe-type thermocouple. Through the control of the guide wheel, the probe can be automatically inserted into the depth of the predetermined temperature measurement point. The insertion depth is generally 12 to 16 mm, so that it is suitable to be inserted into the junction of the outer tire cord and the base of the tread rubber. This method is fast and can accurately measure the temperature before the experiment. The dynamic method is generally measured while the tire is rolling. First, make a hole in the tire, embed the thermocouple in the tire temperature measurement point in advance, or insert the thermocouple from the valve, and pull it out through the slip ring device to measure the temperature of the air inside the tire. To measure temperature by contact method, you can only measure points, and because a hole must be made in the tire, when the tire rolls under stress, stress concentration will inevitably occur, and the measured temperature must be different from the actual temperature. The measurement results are corrected.
