Silica has a large surface area, a refractive index of 1.45-1.50, and a paint film containing a hydrated silica matting agent. When light is incident, diffuse reflection occurs, thereby forming a glossy matte and matte appearance. The fumed silica particles are more loose, and the number of particles per unit mass is more than that of the precipitation method silica. Therefore, with the same addition amount, the fumed silica has a higher matting effect and better transparency.
