Japan, Sweden and other countries have adopted high-dispersion precipitated silica as an excellent auxiliary for papermaking. Highly dispersed precipitated silica is a porous substance filled with small pores inside, and the alkanol group on the surface can form hydrogen bonds with the hydroxyl groups on the surface of the pulp fibers. When dry, the silica and the pulp fibers are firmly combined. The effect of improving the strength of the paper product; and the high dispersion of precipitated silica helps the large amount of ink to be adsorbed, thereby preventing the offset.

It can be seen that the high-dispersion precipitated silica is one of the essential functional additives in the lightweighting of newsprint, and it is irreplaceable for other fillers. In addition, the high-dispersion precipitated silica for papermaking does not need to be dried, and is mixed with the pulp when used, and then dried together with the paper, thereby saving the energy required for drying the silica and reducing the cost.
