In high-humidity environments, these powders can absorb water, leading to structural changes such as agglomeration, gelation, or a complete loss of flowability. To prevent this, these materials must be stored in a cool, well-ventilated, and strictly dry environment. Packaging should remain hermetically sealed until the moment of use. Once exposed, any unused portion should be resealed immediately to prevent continuous moisture uptake that can compromise their rheological and reinforcing properties.

Moisture trapped in textiles creates a breeding ground for mold, mildew, and unpleasant odors, while also causing metal components to rust. Before long-term storage, items must be thoroughly cleaned and completely dried. They should be kept in breathable dust bags rather than vacuum-sealed compression bags, which can permanently damage the elastic structure of down. Placing desiccants in the storage area (without direct contact with the fabric) helps maintain a safe moisture level.

In manufacturing, residual moisture from processes like dyeing or ironing can lead to severe mold issues during transit. Factories must monitor product moisture content before packaging and utilize appropriate desiccants within cartons or shipping containers. Furthermore, warehouse environments must be actively monitored and controlled to maintain relative humidity within safe limits.
