(May 19, 2026) In the context of the continuous deepening of the national "dual carbon" strategy and the normalization of environmental protection supervision, the silica industry is ushering in an industrial transformation with green production, low-carbon transformation, and solid waste recycling as the core.

With the implementation of dual control of energy consumption and carbon emission accounting in various places, the survival pressure of small and medium-sized enterprises in traditional extensive production has intensified. At present, mainstream leading enterprises have promoted technological transformation and upgrading, and greatly reduced production carbon emissions and pollutant emissions through waste heat recovery, reclaimed water reuse, and comprehensive utilization of by-products. Some enterprises use silica slag and industrial by-product silicon sources to prepare silica to realize solid waste recycling, which not only reduces the cost of raw materials, but also meets the requirements of green production, and the products have more advantages in the downstream new energy and export markets.

At the same time, the trend of green procurement on the downstream brand side is obvious. Leading enterprises such as tires, photovoltaics, and daily chemicals have begun to include product carbon footprints and environmental protection indicators in supplier access standards, and low-carbon silica has given priority to entering the core supply chain. The continuous implementation of EU carbon tariffs has also forced domestic export companies to accelerate green certification, and low-carbon silica has become an important starting point for seizing overseas markets.

In contrast, small and medium-sized production capacities that have not completed green transformation not only face the risk of domestic production restrictions and environmental penalties, but also the export business is also hindered by carbon taxes and environmental barriers, the market space continues to shrink, and the industry reshuffle is further intensified.

Industry institutions predict that in the next three years, the proportion of low-carbon and environmentally friendly silica production capacity will continue to increase, and green labels will become the key to product premiums. The silica industry will transform from simple chemical filler manufacturing to low-carbon new material track, and the speed of green transformation will directly determine the future market position of enterprises.
