As of May 17, the mainstream quotation of domestic precipitation silica remained at 6300-7000 yuan/ton, the market price of food-grade silica was stable at about 6500 yuan/ton, and the price of fumed silica was clearly differentiated, with low-end quotations of 15000-17000 yuan/ton, and high-end models quoted at 22000-28000 yuan/ton, maintaining a stable and rising pattern as a whole. Judging from the recent price trend, the price of silica has risen by 3.70% since March, mainly driven by the rigid rise in the cost of upstream raw materials, of which the price of sulfuric acid continues to run at a high level has become the core influencing factor, for every 100 yuan/ton of sulfuric acid, the cost of silica will increase by 80-100 yuan/ton, and some enterprises have previously issued price adjustment notices to raise product prices by 500 yuan/ton to alleviate cost pressure.
Green and low-carbon transformation has become the core main line of industry development. With the continuous advancement of the national "dual carbon" strategy, the chemical industry continues to increase environmental protection and energy consumption control, and the silica industry is accelerating the farewell to the traditional extensive production mode, and green production technology is widely used. Among them, biomass silica stands out with its low-carbon advantages throughout the life cycle, and its carbon emissions per unit product are only 0.85 tCO₂/ton, which is 65%-70% lower than that of traditional precipitation method silica, and can achieve carbon emission reduction of about 2.8 tons per ton of production, and can absorb 3 tons of agricultural waste such as rice husks and straw, realizing the circular economy model of "turning waste into treasure". At present, some enterprises have added more than 50,000 tons of green production capacity of biomass silica to promote the green transformation of the industry towards scale. In addition, a number of mainstream enterprises have completed the technological transformation and upgrading of production processes, using low-energy synthesis technology and wastewater recycling systems to greatly reduce pollutant emissions, and reduce energy consumption and water consumption by more than 40% compared with traditional processes.
On the downstream demand side, the growth logic of the industry is changing. The growth of demand in the field of traditional tires and rubber has slowed down, while the rapid rise of photovoltaic adhesives, lithium battery sealing materials, agricultural additives, high-end toothpaste and other segments has become the core driving force for the increase of the industry. Among them, the rapid expansion of the photovoltaic industry has driven the continuous increase in demand for fumed silica, and its excellent thickening, reinforcement and anti-aging properties have become the key filler for photovoltaic sealants and other products. At the same time, overseas demand continues to be released, and China's silica export market has performed well, especially the comprehensive price of biomass silica exported to the EU is 20%-35% higher than that of traditional products, effectively improving the overall profitability of the industry.
