Spray dryer and its application on silica

Silica is a general term for white powdered X-ray amorphous silicic acid and silicate products. It mainly refers to precipitated carbon dioxide, gaseous carbon dioxide and ultrafine silica gel, as well as powdered synthetic aluminum silicate and silicic acid. Calcium, etc. White carbon black is a reinforcing raw material for the rubber industry. Because its microstructure and aggregation form are similar to those of carbon black, and it has similar reinforcing properties in rubber, it is called white carbon black.

The method for producing white carbon black is a gas phase method and a precipitation method. The gas phase method has high purity and good performance, but the production process consumes a large amount of energy, is technically difficult, and has high cost.

In contrast, the preparation of white carbon black by precipitation method is mature, simple in operation, and cost-competitive, but in the process of drying and dehydration, ultrafine particles are prone to agglomeration and affect performance.

In the process of producing white carbon, it is usually dried by spray drying. Spray drying is to pump the beaten white carbon black liquid to the atomizer in the upper part of the drying tower. The liquid is dispersed into a uniform and fine mist group under the action of the atomizer. The cold air is exchanged by the coal-fired furnace and adjusted to a high-temperature clean air of 500-550 ° C. The hot air distributor enters the upper part of the drying tower, and the air and the droplet group quickly exchange heat and mass, and form in a short time. Solid powder. The temperature is quickly lowered to 90~140 °C, and the dried powder is recovered by a bag filter and sent to the silo, and the exhaust gas is discharged to the outside by an induced draft fan. The white carbon black solution is acidic and the finished product is white powder. The parts in the production equipment that are in contact with the material must be made of non-rust, so as to ensure the color and low carbon content of the product.

Studies have shown that: spray drying can obtain white carbon black with uniform particle dispersion, high specific surface area and high oil absorption value, and it can meet the recommended blending curve of oil absorption value and specific surface area, and is suitable as a reinforcing agent for high performance tires.
