(April 29, 2026) With the rapid expansion of the new energy, new materials, and high-end rubber and plastic chemical industry chains, the downstream consumption structure of silica has ushered in a deep reconstruction, and the differentiation pattern of oversupply and demand of traditional low-end production capacity and shortage of high-end special materials has become more and more obvious, forcing the whole industry to accelerate product iteration, formula optimization and refined production transformation.

From the perspective of downstream applications, the demand growth in the fields of traditional rubber reinforcement and ordinary daily chemical filling is sluggish, the market homogeneity competition is fierce, and the low-price volume model of small and medium-sized manufacturers is difficult to sustain. On the other hand, in the emerging high value-added track, photovoltaic packaging materials, special silicone rubber, industrial anti-corrosion coatings, lithium battery auxiliary materials, pharmaceutical and food additives and other fields put forward strict requirements for the specific surface area, dispersion, purity, and hydrophobic modification indexes of silica, and high-end modified silica orders continue to be in short supply, becoming the core growth point of industry profitability.

In the context of the mismatch between supply and demand, the R&D focus of domestic silica enterprises has shifted comprehensively. Major manufacturers focus on the research and development of hydrophobic, gas-phase and ultra-fine nanoscale modified products, continue to optimize the surface treatment process, and solve industry pain points such as powder agglomeration, poor compatibility, and insufficient weather resistance. At the same time, the procurement standards of downstream customers have been continuously upgraded, from a single price orientation to a comprehensive consideration of quality, stability, and customized services, further compressing the living space of extensive production capacity.

In terms of foreign trade market, global green manufacturing policies have been tightened, and overseas customers have given priority to purchasing silica products produced with low-carbon processes and low energy consumption. With the advantages of green production technology and customized products, the proportion of exports of leading domestic enterprises has steadily increased, especially the procurement demand of high-end chemical markets in Europe, the United States, Japan and South Korea has steadily rebounded, opening up incremental space for domestic high-end silica.

At this stage, the pace of industry reshuffle continues to accelerate, backward and inefficient production capacity is gradually cleared, and industrial resources are continuously concentrated in leading enterprises with technology research and development, low-carbon production capacity and customized production capacity. In the future, relying on the continuous efforts of downstream emerging industries, differentiated modification, high-end customization, and low-carbon production will become the core path for silica enterprises to break through the competition, and the industry officially bid farewell to the era of scale expansion and entered a new development cycle of quality and efficiency.
