(April 23, 2026) Since the second quarter of 2026, the investment and construction boom in the domestic silica industry has continued, and low-carbon new process capacity projects have been intensively planned and implemented, superimposed on the green technological transformation and upgrading of existing production lines, and the process of optimizing the industry's production capacity structure has been comprehensively accelerated.

Previously, the total investment of 1.02 billion yuan in Weifang, Shandong Province, has entered the preparatory stage, the project is divided into three phases, the first phase will form an annual output of 60,000 tons of high-quality silica production capacity, and is expected to be officially put into operation in 2027.

At the same time, enterprises in many places in China have carried out technical transformation of old production lines, eliminated outdated production equipment with high energy consumption and low output, replaced clean energy heating devices, optimized production processes, improved product purity and performance, and reduced production energy consumption and environmental protection emissions while stabilizing basic production capacity.

Combined with the guidance of domestic industrial policies, the low-end ordinary grade silica production capacity is accelerating the clearance, and the industry encourages the development of carbon dioxide acidification, green and efficient new process production capacity. The new high-quality production capacity will focus on filling the supply gap of high-end products, alleviating the current shortage of high-end silica, and promoting the whole industry to get rid of low-end homogeneous competition and transform to refined, high value-added, low-carbon and environmental protection high-quality development.
