With the recovery of global demand for tires, silicone rubber, coatings and other industries, China's silica exports have continued to rise since the beginning of this year, and the share and recognition in the international market have increased simultaneously.
Customs data shows that the export volume of precipitated silica increased by more than 12% year-on-year in the first quarter of this year, and the increase in highly dispersed and food-grade products was more obvious. Orders from Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe and other places have increased significantly, and the export schedule of some enterprises has reached June, and the foreign trade boom has picked up significantly.
On the one hand, overseas tire factories have increased the purchase of green and low-carbon materials, and the demand for high-dispersion silica is strong. On the other hand, with the gradual maturity of domestic gas-phase silica and high-purity ultra-fine silica technology, the high-end fields that relied on imports in the past have gradually achieved domestic substitution, and some products have entered the overseas high-end supply chain.
Under the influence of the international trade environment and carbon tariff policies, low-carbon production has become a "new passport" for exports. A number of leading enterprises have accelerated the application of green processes such as carbonization and bio-based silicon sources to reduce carbon emissions and pollutant emissions, and their products have successfully passed multinational environmental protection certifications, further enhancing their international competitiveness.
The industry expects that the export momentum will continue in the second quarter. In the future, the foreign trade competition in the silica industry will shift from price competition to comprehensive competition of technology, quality and low-carbon capabilities, and enterprises with high-end R&D capabilities and stable delivery capabilities will occupy a more favorable position in the global layout.
