Preparation Technology of White Carbon Black: From Tradition to Innovation

Hits: 1102 img

The preparation technology of white carbon black has undergone an evolution from traditional precipitation method to modern gas-phase method, and each step embodies the wisdom and innovation of technology.

Precipitation method: As the earliest production method, precipitation method generates precipitation by reacting sodium silicate with acid, and then obtains white carbon black through washing, drying, crushing and other steps. This method is low-cost and suitable for large-scale production, but the product purity is relatively low and the specific surface area is limited.

Gas phase method: With the advancement of technology, gas phase method has emerged. By gas-phase hydrolysis or oxidation of silicon compounds (such as silicon tetrachloride) at high temperatures, high-purity and high specific surface area gas-phase silica is directly generated. Gas phase white carbon black has excellent reinforcement performance and dispersibility, and is widely used in high-end rubber, plastic, and electronic materials fields, but the production cost is relatively high.

Innovative technology: In recent years, in order to give consideration to both cost and performance, researchers have been constantly exploring new preparation technologies, such as sol gel method, microemulsion method, etc. These methods show unique advantages in controlling the morphology, particle size distribution and surface properties of white carbon black, opening up a new way for the application of white carbon black.

From tradition to innovation, the preparation technology of white carbon black continues to break through, not only improving product quality but also expanding application fields, demonstrating the powerful driving force of technology in promoting industrial development.
