In the field of 3D printed ceramics, a white carbon black composite material with photonic crystal structure is causing a revolution. By controlling the orientation of crystal nuclei during the vapor deposition process, researchers have successfully prepared smart materials with programmable refractive index - which appear milky white at room temperature and become transparent as crystal when heated to 120 ℃. This phase transition characteristic shows great potential in the fields of spacecraft thermal control coatings and smart windows. This article presents a quantum chemical correlation model between its microstructure and macroscopic performance.
