The precipitated barium sulfate chemical composition is BaSO4, and the crystal belongs to the orthorhombic sulfate mineral. It is often thick plate or columnar crystal, mostly dense block or plate-like, granular aggregate. It is colorless and transparent when it is pure, white streaks, glass luster, transparent to translucent. The three sets of cleavage are complete and the angle is equal to or close to 90°. The Mohs hardness is from 3 to 3.5, and the fraction is from 4.0 to 4.6.
From the perspective of powder coating, precipitation of barium sulfate can enhance the leveling and gloss retention of powder coatings, and has good compatibility with all pigments. The powder coating can achieve the desired coating thickness in the spraying process, and the powdering rate is high.
