White carbon black is a cornerstone of modern rubber formulations, offering superior reinforcement compared to traditional fillers. In tires, it improves wet grip and reduces CO₂ emissions by lowering rolling resistance. Its hydrophilic nature, however, requires surface modification (e.g., silanization) to enhance compatibility with hydrophobic rubber matrices. Beyond tires, it is used in seals, gaskets, and footwear for its abrasion resistance and thermal stability. Recent advancements focus on hybrid fillers combining silica with carbon black or graphene to balance performance and cost. The shift toward sustainable mobility further drives demand for silica-reinforced "green tires."
