Silicone rubber sealants have been widely used now, but most people are not very clear about the specific product selection and application. Now we will briefly introduce the simple classification of silicone and the precautions for application.
1. What are the classifications of room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber?
1. According to the packaging, there are: one-component, two-component
2. According to the curing type, there are: condensation type, addition type
3. According to the curing system, there are: dealcohol type, deacetic acid type, deketoxime type, deamination type and deacetone type
De-acetic acid type: Corrosion to some metals and plastics, poor high temperature resistance, generally used in the construction industry.
Dealcoholization type: Fast surface drying time, no corrosion to most materials, and the most widely used.
Deketoxime type: Corrosive to copper, PC, ABS materials.
Deacetone type: high temperature resistance above 280 degrees
Second, the application of silicone sealant matters needing attention
1, the use of process requirements
Before gluing, the surface to be bonded must be cleaned. It is recommended to use Huitian New Material 7757
When using machine sizing, when stopping sizing for a short time, place the sizing nozzle in the silicone oil to isolate the air
The curing speed of the silicone is greatly affected by the ambient temperature. If you need to speed up the curing speed, you can properly heat and humidify according to your own conditions
When the glue that has not been used at one time is used again, it is necessary to remove the glue cured at the front end of the glue nozzle before applying glue.
2. How to achieve the best curing performance of the product
When the silicone is cured, it is cured by absorbing moisture in the air. The best condition is 25°C, 50% R.H., the curing time needs to be more than 24H
3. Why is the surface dry time of single component different in winter and summer?
The curing conditions of one-component silicone depend on temperature and humidity. In winter, the temperature and humidity are low, and the speed of surface drying and curing becomes slower. In summer, the temperature and humidity are high, and the speed of surface drying and curing becomes faster
