Question 1. What is SVHC?
Answer: SVHC is a substance of great concern. The European Chemicals Agency ECHA frequently updates the candidate list for SVHC. The SVHC list is updated 2-3 times a year, and the finalized candidate list will have almost 400-500 substances.

Question 2: Do products exported to the EU have to be REACH compliant?
Answer: Yes, REACH applies to every product that contains chemical substances. The most commonly used objects in private homes and industries are items such as furniture, clothing, vehicles, books, kitchen utensils and electronic equipment. A product may be simple, such as a wooden chair, but it may also be quite complex, such as a computer.

Question 3. In order to comply with REACH, do exporters have to go to testing agencies to test?
Answer: The European Chemical Agency's ECHA has stated that testing is not the only solution for REACH compliance, as many complex issues are involved in testing. Therefore, ECHA recommends that you first perform a technical assessment of the existing SVHC in the product, and only perform tests if you have doubts about SVHC.
