Is there a difference between the application scope of precipitation method and fumed nano-silica? For what purpose?
There are two main differences between precipitated silica and fumed silica (fumed silica):
One, particle size
Precipitated silica is generally micro-scale, and fumed silica is generally nano-scale.
Second, the impurity content
The impurity content of precipitated silica is high, and the purity is generally about 93%. The impurity content of fumed silica is very low, and the purity can reach more than 99%.
All uses have thickening, thixotropic, anti-settling and reinforcing effects
Due to the huge difference in particle size and purity, fumed silica is much better than precipitated binary silica in these aspects!
